Brian Kleinhenz
President
Brian joined Terra Verde as a full partner and principal in 2017. His background in natural resource management and data-driven decision-making have added depth to Terra Verde’s analytical and business support offerings. Brian’s specialty is helping forest landowners evaluate traditional and emerging markets for forest products including timber, carbon offset credits, mitigation credits, and ecosystem services.

Jim McWhorter
Vice President
Jim joined forces with Terra Verde in 1992. He has been instrumental in helping grow the company and our reputation. Specializing in forestland inventory and biometrics, his experience and knowledge is a valued asset to Terra Verde. Jim’s primary responsibilities are to provide support and supervision for contract administration, corporate affairs, information systems, and performance as a senior consulting forester.

Ric Hagenbaugh
Operations Manager
Ric has worked in the forestry industry for more than 30 years. He has considerable experience in sample design, vegetation mapping, and ground-truthing techniques and provides training and leadership on a variety of inventory projects. His diverse experience in providing administration, development, implementation and quality assurance of forest inventory projects is extremely valuable to our clients.

Kyle Renner
Director of Forest Carbon and Resource Analytics
Kyle Renner has a strong background in forestry and natural resource economics. As a GIS analyst for Terra Verde, he brings strong skills in cartography, statistical analysis, modeling, forest inventory reporting, and database management. Kyle has completed forest inventories, carbon offset projects, harvest operations, timber stand improvement projects, and other forest stewardship activities.

Dwight Chapman
Senior Director of Forest Offsets
After completing a master’s degree in international forestry specializing in international carbon markets in 2017, he become a certified carbon verifier. He has verified forest carbon projects for the California Air Resources Board, American Carbon Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve. Dwight is primarily responsible for assisting in carbon project design, execution, and guidance through the verification process.

Sarah Lilly
Inventory Crew Lead
Sarah Lilly holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She began her career with the Alaska DNR as a Natural Resource Technician on the state's FIA program, collecting field data on trees, understory vegetation, fuel loading, and soils following established USFS protocol. She advanced to crew lead before being promoted to Forester 1 in 2023, where her responsibilities expanded to include scheduling and coordinating seasonal field staff, interagency cooperators, and outside vendors, as well as quality assurance review and satellite imagery interpretation for land cover classification. Sarah has also established more than 100 permanent carbon plots across Southeast Alaska and has worked directly with third-party auditors to verify measurement quality. Her combination of rigorous field experience and program coordination skills makes her a strong asset to Terra Verde's inventory and carbon services work.

Most of our partners have been working with us for at least a decade. Our network includes more than 100 timber cruisers, foresters, silviculture specialists, forest carbon developers, forest engineers, GIS analysts and forest biometricians. This extensive network and capacity for local insight increases project efficency, ensures quality and keeps costs low.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Maintaining the professional quality of our project teams is a high priority for Terra Verde management. We strive to utilize knowledgeable, skilled individuals with a work ethic and attitude that reflects our company values. We continuously have field positions and opportunities available. Preference will be given to persons with associates or bachelor’s degrees in forestry or natural resources, or previous forest technician experience.
